Fashion Week YouTube Lookbook

After a multitude of computer crashes (Thank you #NYFW social media and content) I've finally posted my Fashion Week Lookbook on my YouTube channel Beauty by SW.

Fashion Blogger Beauty by SW blogspot

Thanks to Valerie Lee Owner of Chateau Bel Age Boutique for the use of her beautiful store, I could live in there. Some of the outfits didn't get full OOTD during the world wide phenomenon know as New York Fashion Week simply because it wasn't quite Fall Fashion weather but still all the outfits I would wear to a dinner, event or luncheon. I have shopped with Le Bel Age for the better part of my life because Valerie's choices in fashion are timeless and chic.I will have to share my jewelry collection with you all sometime, I've amassed a small bioux store at home. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up and share or subscribe for your dose of fashion fun and adventures.
Thank you all for your support
Until Next Time

Desert Dwellers Its Not Just About Coachella

My favorite Desert Dwelling moments with my family

Sometimes it’s not just a Coachella Music Festival that brings people to a desert dwelling, sometimes its family. My grandmother is the young age of 87 (shown below) she lives in Indio just 5 mins from the Coachella venue, this makes for some interesting people watching around this time of year for her and the locals. For us this is a great time of year (season as it’s called), we try to relax, do some shopping, eat what we want, you know chill out. I thought I would share some pictures from our weekend with everyone.

Dating Your Spouse How to Day to Date Outfit

Mr. W and I try to squeeze in a date night here and there, but it usually boils down to a last minute lucky sleepover at grandma’s house. My day is usually packed up to bedtime. Yes I love and live to plan, organize and do. Hey I had great women in my life that ingrained the work gene into me.

L'Wren Scott My Hero

L’Wren Scott my Hero

This past week I attended a Fashionista.com event which had L’Wren Scott as the Key Note speaker. Good fortune smiled on me that day, for the story she told was magical. I was mesmerized by not just her flawless beauty on the outside but by her spirit. L’Wren’s passion for wanderlust has given her career the deep layers needed to create fashion collections that are seemingly timeless and effortless. The pictures she paints are in 3D with motion. She needs to make films I’ve decided. Her attention to detail is obvious in every project she takes on. As she stated “You must own your bravery and embrace the challenges”. What an inspiration Ms. Scott is

DIY Guy Fawkes Day Celebration

This day is celebrated in England as the day Gay Fawkes attempted to replace the Protestant monarch with a Catholic one, he failed. Now England has a Thanksgiving and 4th of July style fireworks, celebrating this plot gone wrong. Casa W decided to participate this year in the strange event. We were motivated by food, fire and spirits.

I guess the poor man had it coming but I can’t help but wonder what a Catholic monarch would look like in this day and age.

Alon is our generations Erte. Alon Livne’s NYFW spring show was packed with beauty. It’s no wonder Beyonce had him design her cherry red dress for her “Mr. Carter World Tour”.

Where to stay during NYFW spring

The Hudson Hotel during Fashion Week is the center of the universe for me.

I love this space. The library is a favorite spot, not just because of its comfort but because I imagine I’m the Duchess in the Gossip Girl episode with Nate Archibald, remember that one! (Here’s the link with caution). The Hudson seems to be a fashion insider favorite for NYFW. I see that two of my favorite fashion bloggers are staying here, peaceloveshea.com and kayture.com. My personal love affair with the Hudson and the Columbus Circle area started when I first attended the WWD CEO Summit. While exploring one evening  I came across Shun Lee Café, by far the best Chinese food in NY and its super close to the fashion action.

Olay of Olay CC Cream Review

I usually don’t use foundations and other off the drugstore shelf. In my past purchasing experience they don’t deliver what they claim. I’m not sure if it’s an age thing, maybe these products only look great on the 20 year old they have pictured in the ad. Olay of Olay does go out of its way to picture older models when promoting their anti aging product, bless them for that. I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce, Olay’s Celebrity Makeup Artist,  Lucky Magazine FABB Event this year.

Parkchoonmoo NYFW Fall Fashion Ponytails

This collection is so at easy looking. Comfort is a definite must in an urban setting. The pieces are classic, great for a work day. The hair clean, I have a ponytail fetish as some of you know. I've had Karen Angel working on a faux ponytail for spring now it appears as if I can wear it through fall.

Nicholas K Fashion Week New York

The Start of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is always a trill, but for me, this time I’m overjoyed. You see my mother Karen Angel is back stage working the hair on about 10 shows. She kicked off with Nicholas K. Mom did the Spring RTW 2013 in September on Nicholas K, Chris Benz and a few others. She is working for Nick Irwin representing Tigi Hair care. I thought I would share a couple of back stage shots and a link to the rebroadcast show. I hope you enjoy, I did.

It's not Zac Posen's Baby!

Definitely not the beginning of the story but it's a start.

I'm a 3rd generation award winning hairstylist. I basically had no choice in my profession, it's in the DNA. I've owned my own Salon/Boutique- Blu Globefusion which was featured in Lucky magazine. My expert advise has been quoted in Real Simple, my work was published in WWD. Then this happened ! No it's not Zac's baby

I will say this, he's so sweet and he's definitely a family man. He reminisced about his sisters pregnancy and I told him about the time his mother was the Key Note Speaker at the WWD CEO Summit and what an inspiration she was for me. The summit is like a major Power lunch. Industry leaders from around the globe participate. Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang where also in attendance that same year.
Anyway I went from Bi coastal stylist to Bed rest mama. What a shocker for me. I was not ready for the serious slow down! I has been a blessing for me "the slowdown". It's been a time of reflection and redirection. The past few years I've been a stay at home mom, who  attentions have been focused on my little one. Fast forward to now and this is my reward and the reason I've re-entered the world of beauty
It's a girl! Now I have a little person who's interest in art, make up, hair and clothing rival mine.
So it's all started flooding back to me, the rush you get when the new collections are being shown, the hours of tearing out looks for your look book so you can start your shopping (and girls & boys I LOVE to shop) I have a storage room, a closet and a guest room to prove it. It's great to be a girl! I've got so much I want to tell her but there is only so much a kid can take sooo- a blog was the next best thing to get it all out and you, yes, you the Fashion Community I've loved through the years and has never let me down, now I have a place to chat about it ALL.
I can't wait to talk to you.
