This show was a great success for the Chanel brand. Coco Chanel was known for her Tweed habit so what better place to hold this fairy tale show. The company a few months ago purchased a mill in Scotland. What's the connection- the fabrics of Scotland have and important part of the house’s history. Of course the wool love started with her love of the Duke of Westminster. He provided her with a textile factory where she would reinvent the Scottish fabrics giving them the Chanel touch. In the book Her Style Her Life Chanel by Janet Wallack there is a photo of Boy Chapel wearing an argyle and socks. It seem some of the outfits in the show are reminiscent of the Boy look. I’m sure this was Karl’s homage to his importance.

This show has brought focus to the countries rich history in textiles and the public’s love affair with tartan. My love of the tartan is in one of my favorite movies Brigadoon, staring Gene Kelly.
Miles Socha of WWD , interview Lagerfeld he remarked "the collection was inspired not only by “the idea of Scotland,” but a combination of Coco Chanel and Mary Queen of Scots, whom he called “two queens of fashion.” See full article

Well I'm feeling my Scottish roots. I want to wear it all clothes, make up and a modified hair look, perhaps a bit softer
Till next time
